Start where you are

New to all this? Start where you are.

You don’t need a background in bodywork or even much time around horses to begin. Discovering Horses teaches you to read and safely be with a horse from the ground up. The Unbound Horse is your first real taste of bodywork, and it’s Module 1 of the full certification, so you are one step closer to becoming a certified practitioner.

Discovering Horses

Safe, grounded preparation for complete beginners. Learn to read a horse’s body language, move around them with confidence, and build the awareness every bodyworker needs before laying on hands.

From $245

The Unbound Horse

An 80-hour introduction to equine bodywork and Module 1 of the full certification. Begin real hands-on work with anatomy, technique, and mentored practice — every hour counts toward certification.

From $1,175

Certification Paths

Two ways to become certified.

Both paths sit under one coherent institution, with distinct traditions, mentors, and outcomes. Choose the modality that fits how you want to work.

THERAPEUTIC BODYWORK FOR HORSES

Equine Bodywork and Massage

A 500-hour path through anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, and the art of hands-on bodywork plus a six-day live intensive. Graduates may qualify to sit for the NBCAAM Equine Massage board exam, subject to current requirements.

RENOWNED TALLGRASS CURRICULUM

Equine + Small Animal Acupressure

The renowned Tallgrass curriculum, paired with School AIT mentorship. Combine meridian and energetic pathways with grounded hands-on practice through a certification rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Art & Science

Art and science equally important.

Plenty of programs teach the mechanics. Few teach the feel. At School AIT you’ll learn the anatomy and the intuition — the muscles and the listening — because real bodywork lives in both. It’s why our graduates don’t just know what to do. They know how to be with an animal.

Science

Anatomy, physiology, palpation, technique, structured assessment, and evidence-informed practice.
Connection
Listening touch, calm presence, reading the horse’s response, and the discipline of quiet attention.

“This journey has been so affirming to my decision to peruse a career in the horse world. I have learnt so much and truly enjoyed every moment.”

— Lydia, South Africa
